Florida Swimmers Sickened by Gulf Oil
Florida Swimmers Sickened by Gulf Oil: "(Newser) – Just when they thought it was safe to go back in the water, hundreds of swimmers reported feeling ill after braving the waves when Pensacola authorities lifted the 'no swimming' flag. Local officials rejected EPA advice to close beaches and are instead relying on lifeguards to spot oil and on bathers to use common sense and not swim where they see oil, the Christian Science Monitor reports."

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers and arylhydrocarbon... [Toxicol Lett. 2010] - PubMed result
I have previously expressed how the AhR (aryl hydrocarbon) may be an important factor in multiple chemical sensitivity....Since little is actually known about this important receptor -- it would be beneficial to understand more about how it regulates the Nrf2 and other immune reaction....

PBDEs did not activate but rather inhibited AhR signaling and specifically induced malformations in zebrafish embryos, which differ from those provoked by AhR agonists. Furthermore, BDE47 and TBDF differentially regulated global gene expression in hepatoma cells. Hence, PBDEs and AhR agonists trigger different toxicity and target gene expression."

Gulf Oil Spill Workers and Volunteers Suffering from MCS-like Symptoms!
Miller first described TILT in 1996, but it remains a controversial diagnosis among the medical community. The syndrome is also known as multiple chemical sensitivity and idiopathic environmental intolerance. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, a division of the National Institutes of Health, has defined the illness as a "chronic, recurring disease caused by a person's inability to tolerate an environmental chemical or class of foreign chemicals."

Regulatory T Cell (Tregs) Production Dependant on Methylation Modifications~!
New report support that the balance of Tregs need to be maintained for suppression of immune functions that lead to autoimmune-type reactions including those that may be seen in diabetes, colitis and lupus.

CRH and Tregs in Autoimmunity: Possible Connections to Chemical Sensitivity~!
Background: In earlier posts we described how commensal bacteria in the gut regulates the induction of T regulatory cells called Tregs that are important for immune functions. The loss of which may include autoimmune-type expressions and may be influential in MCS by loss of tolerance. In addition, we have also discussed how cortico-releasing hormone (CRH or CRF)...

FEMA warns of post-flood mold problems: theinteriorjournal.com: "In a recent letter to Kentucky newspaper editors, FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer Doug Mayne rhetorically asked, “If you knew that an organism in your house could cause serious health problems wouldn’t you want to know about it?” For those in the county who were affected by the recent flood, the answer should be a resounding, “Yes!”"
